Happy National Quilting Day!
The National Quilting Association began celebrating National Quilting day in 1991. It is set as the third Saturday in March.
I have one block to share. It is a birthday block that I made for myself in shades of pink. My birthday is near Valentine's Day. Can you tell? The pattern is called Birthday Cake and it is a free pattern from Ellison Lane Quilts.

Who's Bad.
The pattern for my latest block came from fandominstitch.com It was part of the Rock Our Socks Design challenge. I think Gaya nailed it perfectly don't you?

Which Shoes? Witch Shoes
Back in November, Soma from Whims and Fancies hosted the Something Wicked Comes This Way Halloween blog hop. I decided why not and contributed my first ever paper pieced quilt block, Broken Tombstone.
Soma was very kind to my struggles getting this done.
There were so many awesome blocks that we hopped to. I get distracted, and flit from one thing to another; I might have lost a piece for a while; AND this had a lot of piecing. But I FINALLY finished my first block from the hop. It is Witch Shoes from MKissa Creations. Aren't they awesome?

Ribbit Ribbit
I was so, so pleased with myself. I finished the Harry Potter Chocolate Frog Boxes from fandominstitches.com. They came out nicely.
I went looking for the chocolate frogs I made a while ago from the pattern at winnowing.com
And I found this.
I am slowly; very slowly making 5 1/2" blocks to make 2 Harry Potter quilts. And now I have an extra block. I guess it's another orphan to add to my collection.

Here Kitty
I finished up a couple of quilt blocks a bit ago.
The first quilt block is is the Cheshire Cat from Alice and Wonderland, designed by Gaya and hosted on fandominstitches.com.
The second is a 5.5" block sewn of some of my pink and red selvedges. Isn't it pretty? I was thinking about a selvedge quilt but decided to use my selvedges for bindings instead.
Now I'm off to work to pay for my habit!
